I look up from some catalogues I am looking through.
A grizzled old man stands in front of me.
Ya know, the public library was the greatest service ever invented!
I smile and nod.
Keeps boys like me out of mischief.
He pauses for a moment of contemplation...I won't be in the pub so long.
